Propagating by seed
From Mid Autumn TO Early Spring
Broad beans can be sown in mid to late Autumn for an crop in early Summer, or in Spring for an Autumn crop. Sow seeds in soil that has been fertilised or manured previously, and sow in double rows, but stagger planting to optimise the use of space. Sow seeds 2" deep and 9" apart.
Planting
From Late Autumn TO Early Spring
Broad beans can be started off in pots, and then planted out into the growing bed when they are big enough to handle.
