Hey everyone! I'm new in this community and I could really use your help 😊 This poor plant has been loosing leaves and has a soft stem. Some say it's dead but I still have hopes to save it. Any ideas?

What’s the soil like? How often do you water? How much light? Is room heated?

Yeah it's totally a Schefflera.

At first I watered twice a week maybe more and then I did once a week but maybe it was too much water? The soil is quite humid haven't been putting much water lately. Room is heated and it doesn't really get too much light.

Sorry I didn’t reply before now but I didn’t receive a notification. You need to put an @ in front of my name so I get notified. Eg @brightcolours

I’d deep soak your all pot plants: You need to submerge the whole pot into a bucket (or sink) of room-temperature water. The water level needs to be well over the rim / top of the pot. May need to be weighted down so they don’t float to the surface and tip over. Leave the pot submerged until the bubbles stop (takes longer the bigger the pot and the drier the potting mix). Do this regularly.

An important thing is to water thoroughly when you do water. You should water when the plant needs it and not just to a timetable. Stick your finger in the potting mix: is it dry, wet or just right? If wet: don’t water. If just right: water thoroughly. If dry: deep soak.
