Thanks everyone, I've only got 1 plant this year - I didn't look after my seedlings properly 🙄 Will try harder next year! @Auricula @pelly @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom @hebelover @gjones 😃
I think with the up and down weather it was difficult to control conditions for seedlings - then of course the 🐌
I love strawflowers. Have you seen how they close up when wet?

Drying the first bunch of #strawflowers 🌼🌸🌼 They suffered a bit in the downpours at the weekend so they can stay in the summerhouse to dry out 🙂
Aren't they great Ange and look at colours
Yes! I absolutely love them Alan - there's still plenty in the borders but I don't know what they'll look like after today with the weather we're having! I might have to pick them aswell. @alan1111

Hi everyone, here's a bit of sunshine on a grey, rainy day! Enjoy! 🙄😄 #strawflower
Morning Ange 👋, and very pretty too
Sunny here and no rain forecast, I rather wish there was, it would negate the damage the wind is doing 🍃
Good morning, thanks JP 🌞 @jpea

Hi everyone, I'm slightly obsessed with these Strawflowers at the moment! Can you tell? They're so detailed and different to anything I've grown before. Very easy to grow from seed - they'd be good for children as you can use them for decoration/craft projects. Have a lovely day 🌞🌞🌞 #strawflower 😃 #grownfromseed

The Strawflowers so far ... hopefully the sun will encourage them to open 😃 #strawflowers
Just a hint, if you are wanting to dry them, it’s better to cut them before they are fully open as they continue to open after cutting. 😀
Morning Joan, thanks for letting me know 🙂 I'm really taken with these - interesting little things 🌼🌸🌼 @joanboston
Haven't ever grown them, they're so unusual and pretty colours Ange
They look like those flowers you find in cactus 🌵 the ones that look as if they’re just stuck in....
Angel I used to cut a long stem and hang a bunch upside down somewhere dry out of the strong light till they were really dry. Hope that helps 😀🤞
Morning Sue, I love them! They're really easy to grow too, I'm fascinated by them. I picked the seed packet up in Lidl after seeing them on here, glad I did now 😃🌸🌼 @churchfarmgarden
Yes, maybe this is what they use on 🌵🌵 they feel just the same 😃 @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom
Yes, thank you - I will be doing that 😃 I'm going to let the first few flower in the garden just to see them. Alan @alan1111 says to deadhead them too to keep them going (or pick them I suppose) 😃 @joanboston
Good old Lidls 😅
I bet these are Beauties when they open up!!
You've got some lovely colours their Ange aren't the buds amazing

Thanks Julie, can't wait for them to open up properly! 🕰😃
Oh I like them....😯 how big are they..💛🧡💛
I’m growing these to they dry amazing so I’ve started cutting and hanging gonna make my mum a Christmas centre piece for her table ivy and holly then these as a pop of colour
They’re so nice, ever year I say I’ll grow them and then forget to get the seeds 🤨
They're about an inch across Elaine - I'm hoping for a few different colours 🤞 🙂 @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom

I haven't grown them before but I'm looking forward to seeing what happens! 😃 @ublaszko @rainbowgardener
Me neither. Mine are part of mixed flowers for drying so it will be interesting to see what else is in the packet.
Have a great weekend everyone 😃 No gardening for me, I'm painting my kitchen cupboards.... I maybe some time! 🥴 #pink #strawflower #septemberblooms 💕💕💕
Thanks and you too Ange. Happy painting 🙋♀️❤👩🎨

Fantastic photo Ange - you will feel so virtuous when your cupboards are looking like new😀
Have fun decorating Ange, that's on my to do list for October as we've had builders in for 4 weeks!
I painted cabinets for a living, you think I'm painting mine? Oh heck no! Lol
Thanks all! It's just me and the dog this weekend so thought it would be a good chance to get started 😃 Good luck Sue, it took my auntie 4 coats - I've done 1 coat so far 😄 I couldn't do this for a living Leslie, but so far so good! @juliesgarden @Auricula @lilybee @lesliecole49
Remember to lightly sand and dust between coats to keep a smooth finish
