@PatInnes After 30 yrs in this garden I've never seen so much damage done by more slugs & snails than I've ever come across in a lifetime of gardening. They're huge and clinging on to every pot you pickup. I've already lost 6 clematis to them. I thought it was wilt but on closer examination found hoards of them in their shells clinging inside the trellis. When I looked on the ground they had chewed through all the stems at ground level. They're so clever. It's heartbreaking😩
It's so disheartening, I recently bought a pretty yellow flowered plant, put it in the garden and over two days it disappeared! Must be the right weather conditions for garden pests. Oh well, mustn't give up - must find effective organic solutions!
I've been having the same problems @PatInnes @angipangi - lost a number of new plants. I bought an Agastache which was doing lovely in my growhouse. Planted it out and it was eaten alive within 2 days. The most frustrating thing was I thought it had got better and I then bought another Agastache to replace the first and, it suffered the same fate 😩.
It looks to me that they have widened there food palate and eat about anything Since this seems to be a very bad year for slugs & snails I wouldn't mind if they would stick to one plant like the big Hostas who are capable of regenerating next year but they are going for more delicate plants and just basically wiping them out. I'm going to post the damage done to my 6 Hostas later on. 2 have been completely wiped out & they have been around for years.
Will identify this #lily later
Nice pic
A beautiful one! 😚
Asiatic Lily?
Thanks @Patinnes Meant to look for the tag in amongst hundreds for variety but was near midnight last night so too tired.
I had the same one but it was short lived, I'm afraid. So few flowers in my garden now due to slugs, snails etc.

Oh accidentally pressed send before @richard.spicer.7906
That should have been 6 Clematis not 6 Hostas.
