Hydrangea

Can anyone tell me why my hydrangea doesn't flower? Leaves are huge and it is growing well but no flowers this year or last. I have feed it with ericaceous feed a few times and still nothing. Thinking of digging it up. Can anyone help

Is it in constant shade?

Do you prune it? If so you may be cutting off the flowering stems.

@hellebore thanks for reply. No it does have sun can't understand why it doesn't flower.

@joanboston thanks for reply. No it hasn't been pruned. It is odd. Last year it tried to flower it had one full bud but only some ended up flowering on the big bud if you know what I mean.

Try looking up hydrangea macrophylla. Does it look like that? @annmaz

@joanboston looked this up and yes it looks the same only outside of big bud flowers. That's how much I know about gardening I thought there was something wrong with it lol. Thanks for info. Don't really like it may dig it up and plant something else there. Thanks again

I'm no expert but you might be feeding it too much. Too much feed/ nutrients and plants will put on green growth and not flower. Try 'starving' it a bit and see what happens. Don't give up on it yet. Cruel to be kind and all that. 👍
