Mentha suaveolens 'Variegata'

The #pineapplemint is throwing off some pure white growth. While it is very pretty the lack of chlorophyll on them they get burned while the rest of the pineapple mint is fine.... much like myself when I'm in the sun lol

This seems to grow well for you. I got my first one this spring. What kind of light do you have yours in? Mine'll be potted for now.

@lesliecole49 I got 3 small plants last summer. Planted them in full sun in horrible red clay. LoL if you want to help mint spread faster pinch the tops off. That causes it to branch and spread. I will take photos and share. Once mint takes hold it's there for life lol .

I have and use several mints, it's the pineapple I just got. My friend said she had trouble keeping hers healthy so I was wondering about yours. Mines potted for now but I may eventually put it in the ground. I have 3 types in the ground now. Knowing how they spread I placed them where I wouldn't care if they spread

@Mimi58 it's not what you expect. It's mint but the smell is milder and more earthy, it's more of a "culinary mint" Im not a big fan of it used as tea and eaten raw it's an apple mint hybrid so it had that fuzzy texture and the flavor isn't the best lol it's still Beautiful and I love it. I have never cooked with mint and this is what this type is mostly used for if not just as decorative due to the colors. I'm excited to see the blooms.
