30 Mar 2019 • This has never had so many flowers 💜💚 #brunfelsia #houseplant
Gorgeous 💜 I shan’t tell you mine didn’t make it then...😬😕
No you’d better not 😢😢😢 @rachelbrooks
Ok I won’t then 🙈
That’s alright then 😉 @rachelbrooks
I feel so guilty 😣 I don’t know what happened 🤦🏻♀️
Hey! Don’t feel guilty! You probably killed it with love 💕💞 @rachelbrooks

17 April 18 • Well hello! 💜 First flower of the year 💜 #houseplant
What a colour! 💜 and Just love the name of this!
And the photo doesn’t really do it justice 💜 It gets its name from the way it changes colour each day, getting paler until after three days it’s almost white 😊 @rachelbrooks
I think i was fascinated by this when you posted it before 🤔 Is it a tricky one to look after?
No not at all. This is on a smaller plant that I grew from a cutting from the parent that I’ve had for years. It even droops to tell you when it needs watering 😉 @rachelbrooks
Hmmm maybe one to try then! 😊
Definitely. Are you going to be at Harrogate next Sunday? 🤔😉 @rachelbrooks
I am! 👍🏼
Then I will bring it with me. It needs a new home 💜 @rachelbrooks
Aww that would be fab if you can spare a little bit my lovely! Thank you 😘
As long as I remember...🐘 @rachelbrooks
Don’t panic! I need to remember your wallflower cutting as well!

Ta daa!
Very pretty in purple! 😀
💜 It was a small cutting that has flowered before producing any new leaves 💜 @bigemrg
💜💜
Here is my daughter's "desk" (aka the dining table), with the little white alliums I snipped yesterday @rachelbrooks
Looking very pretty 👌🏼💚 (I think I like them as cut flowers) as is this bloom! 💜 never heard of it before, what a great name! 👍🏼
They only have to last until Sunday when she goes back to Uni. Yes it's a great name. It's a South African shrub I think and the name refers to the way the flowers change colour and go pale, so on one shrub you will get flowers of purple, lilac and pale lilac. @rachelbrooks
Just looked it up. Isn't that gorgeous?! 💜 what a shame we can't grow it outside here! 😏
It is a shame but it makes a wonderful house plant 🌱💜 @rachelbrooks
For anyone but me Jacqueline! Bringing one into my house would be sentencing it to death! 😬🙈
Surely not! You find that really hard to believe. Perhaps you need to try again? @rachelbrooks
I have an Orchid at the moment that I've had since October/November. This is a world record in my house...I kill everything!! 😂

My little cutting has not only taken but appears to be about to flower before it has even got any new leaves 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Eager little Beaver 😏😏😏
👌👌👌
Isn't it just?! @jacq1075

I have seen this growing outside in South Africa. In Cumbria, it is a houseplant, but a wonderful one. It is rarely without at least one flower - I have no idea what it's season is!
Oh that is lovely 💜💜💜
Thanks @pauline33 It is pretty indestructible too 😊
I must confess any indoor plants don't survive in my house 😝
Maybe this is one to try. Likes to be wet but doesn't seem to mind drying out either. Perfect!
Does sound perfect 👍💕💕
#brunfelsia #yesterdaytodaytomorrow
And in contrast to cool temperate Cumbria where it's an unfussy #houseplant ... here in subtropical SE Queensland it's an unfussy garden plant which readily self seeds.
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 #brunfelsia #brunfelsia-pauciflora though there’s nothing pauci about its flora 😉😍
I love the fragrance! I tried to grow one a few years ago but it didn’t survive. Where’s yours, Jacqueline? Indoors or in the greenhouse? 💜💜
Gosh Barbara, I’ve never noticed a fragrance *goes off to have a sniff* No, nothing 🤔 It’s in the house, in a brightly lit but cool room @jacaranda
What a beautiful colour 💜💜💜
That’s interesting, Jacqueline. I originally came across the plant in South Africa where it was planted by a front door so that you could enjoy the fragrance. Maybe in our cooler climes the scent is diminished. Either way it’s a beautiful plant 💜💜
It’s wonderful especially when the sun shines through the petals 💜 @pelly
I remember seeing it in SA too, though after I had it as a houseplant (I’ve had it for years) but don’t remember a scent, and I’m usually pretty tuned into scent. RHS simply says “sometimes fragrant”! 🤷♀️ @jacaranda
