When I'm not on my bike, you'll find me in my organic-ish garden in #Cumbria. Favourite plants? Wisteria, hellebores, peonies, philadelphus...

9 Sep 2019 • Did you know...Canna flowers are produced right next to the spent flower, so don’t chop the flower off when you #deadhead or you’ll lose lots of flowers. Just gently pull out the spent flower #canna-advice 💛 #canna-ra #water-canna

It’s a great canna Keely, and a much more reliable flowerer (is that a word?!🤔) than my other cannas @Keely

Its a word in my dictionary 👍 if I don't buy them in flower mine never seem to flower so that's what I did this year and they've been fab 😊

Haha! It is in mine now too 👍 I like your style! I should do that too but I’m too mean 😬 This is pretty hardy too and has been in the same pot for two years. I don’t dig it up or even put it in the greenhouse 😃 @Keely

3 Jul 18 • On a less stressful note, I’m really pleased with this, my first ever “water canna”. It is in a pot but sits in a deep saucer of water. First flower to open but lots more to come 💛

This is my new canna. It likes water. I live in Cumbria. So all good so far. But...my RHS book says pot up in loamless compost, the RHS website says use John Innes no 3. 🤷‍♀️ Which is correct?! 🤔🤷‍♀️ Can anyone help? #canna #canna-advice

Maybe one author was from the North and the other from the South? 😎

That’s exactly what I had done Jason. Then I looked it up and went back and bought some JI no3. Potted it up. Then read the bit about loamless 🤷‍♀️😂 @Jasonsparkes1
