Cotoneaster horizontalis

I do love a bit of drastic pruning. Though it took longer to get it all into my green bin than it took to prune it. As a schedule 9 plant I don’t shred it but I can’t stop the birds distributing it. Should I? #cotoneasterhorizontalis #invasive-non-native-plant-England

I have it trained against a fence and am quite brutal with it but it works well. It does self sow by easy to pull out if you catch it small. I love it

You’ll need a sit down after that and some of your famous rhubarb gin!

It is very forgiving isn’t it. It is easy to pull out but I am next to a small river and surrounded by fields so I hope it doesn’t escape! @joanboston

@awomanonabike thank you, this is it! Love the berries and how it looks but it is very fast growing, going to definitely keep it cut back and in shape. Not to keen on the bees around the animals and children though. Will have to keep an eye, when using this part of the garden. :-) thanks for the tag appreciated.

You’re welcome James. I don’t think you can kill it, it seems to love being hard pruned! I’ve never had a problem from the bees. The main thing is making sure the children don’t eat the berries, though mine did and survived 🤮 @jamesdep
