If my neighbours didn’t already think I was a bit mad… ❄️ 🛌 #wisteria #wisteria-frost-protection 😂
You’re ok I do the same thing not that it makes us both sane of course!
😂 😂 @joycemb
I thought you had ghosts 😂
😂 Hopefully no-one is going to be walking down the footpath at the bottom of the garden tonight 👻 @charlotte
I’m still fleecing…
😅👻
Don't worry Jacqueline we've all got neighbours like that, you just carry on 😂
😂 Thanks Sue @churchfarmgarden
If it works who cares what people think.
Absolutely Joan. In truth, they’re as potty as I am 🙄😂 @joannie.a

Pruning time! #wisteria-pruning

It is definitely time to cut back the #wisteria ... #pruning-wisteria
Do you just cut the new stragglers off and does it just flower on old wood Jacqueline please....it always has me baffled...
I cut all the long shoots back to 6 or 7 leaves then cut them back again to 2 or 3 in late winter, by which time you can see the flower buds. The one on the house in this picture is very vigorous and I have to prune it a few times over the summer. Hope that helps. I don’t think you can prune them too hard 👍@wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom
@awomanonabike yes thank that’s great advice....I’ve just been chopping the stragglers off any where...👍🏼
You’re welcome Elaine. Now yours has flowered there will be no stopping it I’m sure 😊 @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom

So pleased to see this. I thought I had lost all of the flowers to that very late frost but no! I left the dead buds for a while but then gave it a trim and now it is rewarding me 😍🥰 #white #wisteria #wisteria-alba
That’s wonderful news, I know how upset you were 🤍🤍🤍
Oh how nice.
I am so happy Jane. You’re right, I was upset. I even made the postman walk round to the back of the garden to show him 🙄😂 @pelly
Very nice I think Leslie! 😊@lesliecole49
I hope you know your postman well 😱😂😂
I do now 😉😂 @pelly
I’ve just seen my postie and he thanked me for his birthday present, so I suppose I do know him quite well 😉😂 @pelly
I'm glad to hear you're not just dragging in all and sundry to see your garden 😂 nice of you to give him a birthday gift though 🎁

😂 It was nothing fancy, just some sugar-free flapjack 😋 @pelly
Still a lovely thought though 🎁

I will not cry. I will not! #theresalwaysnextyear
So disappointing @awomanonabike 👎
So sad We have a blue bird hibiscus which has grown well and been beautiful. This year, not a bud, leaf, nothing. It appears to be alive in terms of flexible stems and green when scratched. We are at a loss?
What happened? ☹️
Very Sue @churchfarmgarden
Maybe you’ve been to nice to it 🤔😉 @joanboston
The latest frost I can ever remember Pam. I’m not sure that even a single flower has made it... @tiger123
Oh no, I know you were really worried about this happening. 😢
😔😔 oh no! 💚
It has never been caught this late and it was going to be stunning. Hey ho! @pelly
Oh yes 😢 @anges
You can cry. I would! How gutting!

12 Aug 2019 • Had a lovely time today pruning the #wisteria and breathing in the scent...and no, I didn’t prune any of the flowers 😍
Can just imagine 😍
It is one of my favourite scents Diane. Just gorgeous @Diane76
You had sunshine?!!! 😯
We did 😎 It’s now pi**ing down again though 💦💦💦 @rachelbrooks
I’ll let you off then! 😉 been p*ssing down all day here...makes a change from gale force wind I guess 🤷🏻♀️
I’ve got more flowers on mine I was gobsmacked....👍🏼
Once they start there’s no stopping them 😍 @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom

A lovely welcome 😍
The whole garden has come alive while I’ve been away. And now we’ve had some rain it will be romping away and I’ll never catch up 🙄 @icedance
Beautiful garden, glorious x x x
The thing I look forward to most when I return from hols is to see what the gardens done .. but I get the feeling of overwhelming.. it’s like a teenager when the parents go away ! Hopefully it’s not to much hard work Jacqueline 🤞😘
Thank you Claudia 😘😘 @clipperty
You’ve got it in one Sam👍 June is the teenage years and it always gets away from me. Eventually I give up and just sit back and watch 😉😂😂 @icedance
Oh it really is Jacqueline 😂😂🌸🌱💚 yes just have to give in and enjoy 😊

The new leaves on this really are like bronze - great contrast with the remaining flowers.
Just so pretty xx
Very Claudia 💚 @clipperty
So dainty and pretty 💚
I think it might be my favourite... @rachelbrooks
It looks fabulous 😍😍😍
I love it Jane. It's also much slower growing than my others, so very easy to keep under control & doesn't take up much room 🤔😊😊 @pelly
This is the white one Sue...Not that I mean to lead you into temptation 😉 @susanhumphrey333

😢😢 Some of the buds on my white wisteria did get caught by the frost after all (the sad looking one at the back). Hard to know why some were caught & others not, as they are all equally unprotected as growing on a pergola as opposed to against the house. There are still lots of buds that look OK though 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Nature will triumph in the end and I can't wait to see it in full flower (please) xx
Just try and stop me Claudia 😂It is gorgeous when it first comes into flower, as the new leaves are brown initially & make a great contrast with the white flowers @clipperty
Ah at least it wasn't them all Jacqueline 👍🏼 shame though! Also looking forward to the pics of the blooms 👏🏼
True Rachel, and the dead buds aren't hugely obvious either. Worse things happen at sea...or something! 🤔😉😂 @rachelbrooks
That fleece was worth it 💜🤍💜 #wisteria #wisteria-sinensis-alba #wisteria-alba and #wisteria-issai
Thank you. I love wisteria. Can you tell?! 😂 @gjones
Thank you Laura 😍 @columbiariver
I’ve never heard of that one and had no idea if could be invasive though not sure if I’d mind 🤔😉😂 @gjones
Really welcoming walk to the French doors
Oh Joan! I wish they were. Sadly it’s just a bedroom window (we live in an upside down house) 🙃 Though when she’s home my daughter does have a lovely view 😊 @joannie.a
Gorgeous- got couple of flowers on mine for the first time this year - planted it 2020 was about 3’ tall - very exciting. Can’t wait until it looks like yours.💜
Once they start they don’t ever stop Christine 👍 💜 @grandmagizzy
Fabulous!!! #bestofmay
