I'm no help I'm afraid, killed my big one, and now successfully killing the variegated one, just can't stop the leaves falling off. Does it get good light?

@hebelover It gets reasonable light but I’m going to move it upstairs to my spare room and hopefully it will settle there.

Online shopping order arrived and treated myself to a cheap pot luck plant from Sainsburys but I have no idea what it is. Think I’ve identified it as a dwarf umbrella tree #dwarf-umbrella-tree #schefflera. It is bone dry so given it a drink and hoping it will perk up and recover from the transporting!
