Midway into an attempt to convert a holly bush into a holly tree. Hoping doing this doesn't kill it off!!

@gjones only three days and some help from my parents!! Haha! Now I don't have to worry about the kids hurting themselves on it
@gjones once I've dug some of the roots out then yes! No idea what I'll put there though
Good effort, that looks great, you may have just saved my own over grown holly !
@donkinads I can't guarantee doing this isn't going to kill it though! I read to only take 1/3 of the growth out each season but I don't have the patience for that. It was either this or take the whole thing out which seemed too sad for a lovely mature plant
Fingers crossed for you after all that hard work, I hope it's ok. I will heed your advice and try be cautious, thank you for letting me know. Although it has somehow colonised inside the garage too, so now it's personal !
