Those leaves are gigantic! Do you have this in shade by any chance? I planted mine in full sun this year and they didn't do very well.

@sushiwaitress thank you! It’s in partial shade. It gets sun in the morning and shade the rest of the day. This is just one side, in the back there are variegated leaves and then another cascade of leaves on the other side. It’s the first year I’ve grown these big enough to flower and I just might plant them every year now!!!

Mine flowered a lot in mostly sun this year, but the plant itself was feeble and weak. I'm gonna try your way next year!

The squirrels have been digging up all over. The birds watch me plant seeds and go behind me. I'm about to take a page out of @KariSamuel's book and get out the ol' slingshot to give them a nudge. Lol. @camilio81

@kimguy - the rabbits have pretty much left things alone with the threat of the slingshot! However, the squirrels seem to evade me! And now the deer are hitting! 😩😠😬

The deer are terrible! They usually leave this planter alone.. but they go after everything else. I have ti sprinkle bloodmeal around everything to keep them away. That helps some, but not completely! @KariSamuel @kimguy

@KariSamuel If you sprinkle the bloodmeal all the way around your garden or whatever you're keeping deer from, it's supposed to deter them. They think it's another animal's territory, I guess? If it rains you'll have to reapply. But it kept the deer away from my roses last year!

Oh man! The squirrels just got to one of my basket #planter and tore up all the allysum. I think I'm gonna work on my slingshot skills @camilio81. @KariSamuel.
