#nigella at the front (soon to start blooming) and the purple ones #grape-hyacinth just at the back. Nigella always self seeds freely in my garden and is adored by bees. 🐝🐝🐝🐝

Nigella (Love-in-mist) has been, as usual, the star of the show this year, completely covered in pollinators at any given time. 💙

#love-in-a-mist self-seeded next to #cosmos grown from seed and a perennial #scabious Guess which is the bumblebees’ favourite? Aaaand the winner is... love-in-a-mist. And through wonderful fortune, it grows everywhere freely in my garden. Blue little flowers everywhere, absolutely “messy” and wonderful 💙

#advice needed please! Some of the Nigellas are now becoming lovely seed pods, what do I do with them? Spread the seeds all over the place is my first thought (because they’re so beautiful). Should I be dead-heading at all? Thanks
If you don’t want the seeds to spread and you want plant to hopefully bloom longer, deadhead. Depends what you want.
@bluefox23 @missxyoung Thank you! I’ll leave them longer to self seed! I do love seeing them all over the garden ❤️
Perhaps take some off for now to encourage more flowers, then leave them later?
@joanboston That sounds good too! If only this rain would give us a break now...
