8.6.2020 I’d like to call this the “undisturbed messy corner”, but I have so many such corners... 😅

Some of my roses are in trouble, they seem to have black spots (sigh!). I read that it’s fungal infection, I removed the affected leaves, I’ve asked at the local gardening centre what to do next and they said to use Rose Clear BUT I am not happy to use that due to its chemicals and negative impact on bees/hover flies.. So please help! Is there any Organic remedy to this issue out there? X
#advice-blackspot #advice-rose #advice-needed urgently please
A solution of milk and water sprayed on the plant is a good organic alternative - it kills the fungus 👍🏼
Otherwise, good cultural control can help reduce the impact but not necessarily cure it. Clear up all infected and fallen leaves immediately to prevent overwintering spores in fallen leaves and reinfecting the following spring. Also give them a good thick mulch to cover the surrounding soil - this prevents splashback from the soil of rain which will carry the spores back onto stems.

Thank you @richard.spicer.7906 I’ll have a read on the page that you suggested & also make sure to mulch & clear fallen leaves. I won’t be using milk as I have recently gone vegan but I really appreciate your advice, many thanks!
One of my roses has had black spot but it still survives and comes back each year. I have tried the milk solution. Touchwood at the moment, there’s no sign of it this year . . . Yet! Will make final judgement when get buds as that’s when it seemed to kick in for me! 🤞🏼😊
