Have a small court yard garden so mainly plants in pots! Love all types of gardens and love unusual and the traditional.

Had this lovely Magnolia just over two years but no flowers 😕 Does any one know why - could it be because it's in a pot?

It grows into a huge tree when in the ground so it may nit be too happy with restricted roots . Anyone else help ? @mikethegardener @justin

They also like acidic soil so it could well need feeding

What type of Magnolia? It definitely needs to be in the ground, for optimum performance. As @justin rightly says a feed will definitely help for now. But in the ground is best 😊😊

Thanks guys. It's a magnolia grandiflora...that's all I know! I've got everything in pots as I rent where I am at the moment. I think I may try a bigger pot though with acidic soil. Love this group you are all so helpful! 😊

It is the most magnificent of all the magnolias when fully grown . Beautiful glossy dark leaves and gorgeous flowers but it does do large !

Trust me to get a huge plant for my small space! Lol. This gardening business is defiantly a learning curve.
