Four years ago we planted 2500 new #hawthorn #trees to create 1.5km of new #hedgerows these have now created a really important new #environmental area

As part of our #ecology work at Chewton Glen, we have planted thousands of #hawthorn #trees around the grounds. The #Hawthorns have several purposes they create dense #hedgerows for our #birds to nest and shelter in, the #flowers provide a good #nectar source for our #bees and the #fruit provides a good food source for our many song birds that live in the grounds. #autumn-colours #autumnwatch #autumn #red
