When juvenile (what you buy or self seeds) it is what climbs and sticks to walls fences etc then after a while (years not sure how many) it turns adult and produces the flowers, you can not take cuttings from the adult as they do not take,

Hello this is ivy, in its adult form it flowers which the insects love then turns into the berries you see here
