@davewrightjoinerygooglemail.co does this stay contained by your block? It's beautiful!

davewrightjoinerygooglemail.co

@tinaaune it is the clumping variety so shouldnt get to rampant. Ive had it in a big pot for about 5 years and only put it in the ground last summer. See what happens this year 😮

Root ball from bamboo no 2. I water these religiously every day, and it was as dry as a bone .

Im sure u are informed on #bamboo but just a small story of cost of #bamboogrowth My son has had the challenge of cutting bamboo down just to get to areas of the property that was inherited to them by daughter-in-laws father. I don't know y the gentleman would plant it with it being so #aggressive #damaging and #invasive It has grown so much it is causing damage to parts of the ⛅ rm on bk of the home.

I'm fully aware of how quickly it can grow, I'll be keeping a close eye on it, and it's well away from the house, I don't think there quite as invasive here as they are with you. I hope 😂. I've got a good chain saw if needed 😊

It's classed as category 2 invasive in florida in America but in our colder climate it's classed as clumping but there is alot of varieties that come under golden bamboo so if it's the more common one you have it should be fine 😁👍

I bought a large clump of Fargesia Rufa bamboo a couple of months ago it thrives best in shade or semi shade so is ideal for my shady spot at the back of the garden and its totally winter hardy and reaches a height of around 200cm,love bamboo in the garden it makes a statement and serves a purpose if using it for a screen 😊👍

Got to find a new place for these. I'm really tempted to put them in the ground and let them do there own thing.

@brightcolours @carolgs @rachelbrooks I think it's fair to say after your comments, these two will be staying in their pots.

You could plant them in the ground in their pots and it will limit their growth...

I have just bought some golden bamboo for my garden. Do you know if it prefers a particular compost. I am keeping it in containers. Thanks!

@lme11 I'm pretty sure I've got them in a multi purpose compost and just give them a liquid feed once a fortnight Lisa. Perhaps sam @icedance could advise you better. Good luck.

Hi Lisa @lme11 and David tea break at work time 🙂 multi purpose is fine or you could add in some John innes no 3 if they are are to be in a pot long term , a liquid feed once a fortnight is brilliant wish everyone did that for their bamboos in pots 👍 in the ground expect them to March across the garden unless restrained by a specialist membrane .. hope all that helps
