Have tried a couple of times to grow these unsuccessfully

In South Australia the common name for these bulbs is 'naked ladies'. I believe that is because the flowers come up before the leaves.

We call the Amaryllis "Naked Ladies" in New South Wales too #nakedlady Beautiful 🌸
