Honey fungus is back again :-( Is there anything I can do to get rid of it? Actually is this honey fungus?? It's in the same place as last year but if you flip between this and last years photo it has a slightly different shape! Or is it just at a different stage? 🍄
Yes looks like it Mike thanks for the link. It's appearing around the roots of a big old camellia so it may be a worrying sign for the Camellia. Fingers crossed it's too established to be harmed though 🙏🏼 @mikethegardener
Looks like honey fungus @David . I have used Armillatox in the past. It was removed from market 3 years ago because of our friends in Brussels. Now on market again as patio cleaner/disinfectant.
😔 @David I'm all for protecting the environment but just sometimes it needs a helping hand! So anything chemical that will get rid I'd do it!! But there again, if they're near your camelia then that's not an option and although experts say not to touch them or dig them up, how about covering the ground around them and up the trunk of the camelia with plastic sheets, THEN carefully dig them up and then dig all the old soil n rhizomes out and replace with fresh!? Worth a try maybe!
Thank you @melvynprentice and @cazz47 great advice. I have left them where they are today but will look into your suggestions as I hate the thought of it spreading. Horrible stuff by the sounds of it. I lost a couple of perennials mysteriously last year, I think this is the culprit 😠
No problem @David really hope something works to get rid and keep them away from your camelia! I had them on my very old, half deaf apple tree trunk but I used bleach and a scrubbing brush on mine... I just thought as the tree was nearly dead anyway I hadn't got much to lose ! 😆 haven't got them back yet but will wait to see early next yr before I proclaim 'it's a miracle'! 😂
Help me identify this #fungi 😄 So I have been away for a week and came back to find these all over the dampest area of my lawn! Quite pretty but not planned and I'm a bit worried Barney my lab will eat them!!
Just looked through old posts and I think this may be Honey Fungi growing through from some old pine tree roots that were never removed. Is this right @GREENFINGERSLTD ? Thanks
@tiggrx Aaron I think you are right. The image in Wikipedia is misleading as it shows them with closed caps. But if I Google images I can see all varieties. And it looks like they are not particularly good for you Pearl! @fuschia It sounds like are very damaging so they will be coming out ASAP!
