Just giving the Wysteria a summer trim and spotted this. It looks like a runner bean and I presume it's a seed pod! I've never seen this before on this plant. Is it worth trying to plant them?
Nothing to loose 😃
@David Hi David, it can be done but may take a few years to reach flowering size... Have a look at the attached. Good luck! (http://www.doityourself.com/stry/how-to-grow-a-wisteria-from-seeds#b)
Thanks @mikethegardener I'm going to give it a try!!
@David I'm currently trying to grow one across the front of my property, any tips on how to get it go where I want or care tips??
Hi Paula. If you scroll the image above to the left and look through my historical pics of this plant and the comments below, there's quite a bit of discussion about it which might help. If you need anymore info just ask. @mama26
Thank u!!

The Wisteria looking lovely this morning in the sunshine! It's going to be a cracking day here today in Jersey apparently - 24 degrees!! 🌞 Have a great day GT'ers!
@robbiec do you still think this is black dragon? It's definitely getting lighter as the blooms come out
Good morning lovely picture. Weather much the same here beautiful sunshine Derbyshire🤗
Beautiful Wisteria
Love it, mines poking it's head out too!
Beautiful
It's looking lovely @David... Not sure if North Wales will hit those heady temp heights, but I don't think we will be far be far behind 😎
Beautiful mine is just flowering, not as far forward as yours though. Beautiful day here as well @David
Mine has just started to lose its leaves. It was beautiful this summer and the smell nearly bowled you over.
The wisteria looks gorgeous... My wife has just bought one.... Any tips for keeping a healthy plant.... We're thinking of planting it so it grows up an old tree👍 or 👎
@David @godfreye @pooley Am I the only poor sod who is feeling the cold. Up here in Bonnie NE Scotland the temp has reached the dizzy heights of 9 degrees. According to BBC weather expected to reach 11/12 degrees later today. Can't wait for the heatwave this afternoon. May be able to take off 1 of my 3 woolly sweaters later on☁️💨🌫
With any luck @angipangi you may be down to one sweater by 4pm, on the plus side, you live in a beautiful part of the U.K. 😍

Yippee!! Just spotted the first flower buds appearing on my Wisteria! The front of the house looks so much nicer when the this is out! #wisteria #firstbuds
Can't wait for in to flower over my front door.
Mine is only two years old think I'll have to wait a while longer until it flowers, will enjoy looking at yours instead David. 😊
@David that's lovely, I moved mine a couple of year's ago and still patiently waiting and hoping it will recover 😯
@David black dragon David?
@David very envious. Bought our when we moved in (2013) not sure it's ready to flower, but forever the optimist 😊
Beautiful love them 🤗
Will look amazing @david
Lucky you. I lost most of mind when the gales ripped my fence down, just hoping I may still get one or two flowers😉
I put Richard Jacksons flower power on all my plants. Last year l had hundreds of blooms on a marigold of all planets and it grew about 2ft high. So my wisteria will get the same treatment.
That's a great tip thank you @madeleine1953
@robbiec Good question! When I planted this about 11 years ago I didn't make a note of the variety sadly, but looking at images on the net I think you might be right! Thanks

That looks great. How many years growth has it taken to get to that point?
About 7 years Daniel! Although it got this big about two years ago but I keep cutting it back.
It's a beauty
@david ..can wisteria grow well in a pot
Sorry @Sonnja I didn't see this! I would be very wary of growing Wisteria in a pot. It is a very large plant with almost tree like structure once it is established. I had a quick look in the net though and found this advice http://www.doityourself.com/stry/growing-a-wisteria-in-a-container#b
I have had my wisteria for 10 years and it only bloomed once with not many flowers. I cut it back each year twice once at the end of summer and the once in feb. Am desperate for it to bloom??
I planted one last year so can't wait to see how it turns out.
@afshi I feel your pain 😓💜

Looks stunning against the white wall 😊
Hmmm what to do with a dormant Wisteria 🤔 Cover it in baubles and lights 🎄😁 I’m quite pleased with how this looks (especially in the dark!) and very grateful for the @kathy’s help in sorting out the bed below which looks lovely with the Cyclamen in flower. Wishing everyone on GT a very happy New Year 🥳 one of my new year’s resolutions is to spend more time in the garden (I have some projects planned!) and definitely to get onto GT more 😉 Have a great night all X
Looking pretty and wishing you a very Happy and Healthy New Year 😘
Looks a delight! Well done you two and Happy New Year. @kathy @david
