Loving other people's gardens on GT and with a little help from the community I hope to one day love my own!

Hmmm what to do with a dormant Wisteria 🤔 Cover it in baubles and lights 🎄😁 I’m quite pleased with how this looks (especially in the dark!) and very grateful for the @kathy’s help in sorting out the bed below which looks lovely with the Cyclamen in flower. Wishing everyone on GT a very happy New Year 🥳 one of my new year’s resolutions is to spend more time in the garden (I have some projects planned!) and definitely to get onto GT more 😉 Have a great night all X

Just giving the Wysteria a summer trim and spotted this. It looks like a runner bean and I presume it's a seed pod! I've never seen this before on this plant. Is it worth trying to plant them?

@David Hi David, it can be done but may take a few years to reach flowering size... Have a look at the attached. Good luck! (http://www.doityourself.com/stry/how-to-grow-a-wisteria-from-seeds#b)

Hi Paula. If you scroll the image above to the left and look through my historical pics of this plant and the comments below, there's quite a bit of discussion about it which might help. If you need anymore info just ask. @mama26

The wisteria looks gorgeous... My wife has just bought one.... Any tips for keeping a healthy plant.... We're thinking of planting it so it grows up an old tree👍 or 👎

@David @godfreye @pooley Am I the only poor sod who is feeling the cold. Up here in Bonnie NE Scotland the temp has reached the dizzy heights of 9 degrees. According to BBC weather expected to reach 11/12 degrees later today. Can't wait for the heatwave this afternoon. May be able to take off 1 of my 3 woolly sweaters later on☁️💨🌫

With any luck @angipangi you may be down to one sweater by 4pm, on the plus side, you live in a beautiful part of the U.K. 😍

I put Richard Jacksons flower power on all my plants. Last year l had hundreds of blooms on a marigold of all planets and it grew about 2ft high. So my wisteria will get the same treatment.

@robbiec Good question! When I planted this about 11 years ago I didn't make a note of the variety sadly, but looking at images on the net I think you might be right! Thanks

@david ..can wisteria grow well in a pot

9w
comment
David

Sorry @Sonnja I didn't see this! I would be very wary of growing Wisteria in a pot. It is a very large plant with almost tree like structure once it is established. I had a quick look in the net though and found this advice http://www.doityourself.com/stry/growing-a-wisteria-in-a-container#b

I have had my wisteria for 10 years and it only bloomed once with not many flowers. I cut it back each year twice once at the end of summer and the once in feb. Am desperate for it to bloom??
