Myrrhis odorata

I'd read that the seedpods were edible so I gave it a try. Wowsers! They are like aniseed sweets.

Last picture of this as its starting to seed. I'm planning to collect some.

It won't be long until this is covered in lovely white umbrel flowers. It's one of my favourite plants, the foliage is lovely, it's in deep shade and it is not a bit of bother.

In deepest shade it flowers away. I must learn how to propagate it.

Probably just let it go to seed 👍🏻 it's a herb so maybe you can do cuttings from non-flowering stems.

One of my favourites just starting. Last week it was just emerging. Its a fab plant does great in shade, the flowers are beautiful and the foliage lasts afterwards and its lovely. And it smells of anniseed.
