I completely agree, I have found fantastic plants online but have never bought for fear of receiving a bad/dead or possibly infected plant. @Acetaker I have no clue on how long it'll be until it seeds but once it does I'll tag you and get info swapped so I can send you some!

Thxs,keep in touch 😍 we r in Fall now so not much will be going on but a here or there pic. I've got some seeds started now to go outside in spring,they r tropicalstormcindy..so fingers crossed. I don't have a growlight so doing it by humidity growth (using baggies or plastic wrap. Pretty reliable method. I've had things sprout or grow roots from cuttings pretty quickly. You can definitely tell that the center is swollen and starting to turn rich in color. This is a wonderful sign!!! This is the only flower that's hermaphroditic, the center flower is male only. Pretty interesting as I'm not sure if this is typically or not.

Ok so @veepaisal do you see that larger bulb in the center of the pollen stems? Well the small pollen stems are actually called stamens and are the male part of the flower. But the center, larger pale colored bulb is called a pistil and that is the female part. I'm not sure about other plans but for the bear paw it appears that it has male only flowers and/or hermaphrodite (male and female) flowers. I pollinated both just to be sure.

Nice! I just watched the vid! So what's the pollinating do for these succulents anyway? So that they'll produce more??

As far as I can tell pollinating the flowers results in little fruits bearing heaps of seeds. I don't know if it's possible to do with the Bears Paw but I know there are certain types of cactuses that will bear fruit with seeds in them so I figured it was worth a shot.

Female (or a more correct term of hermaphrodite) flower opened up on the right so I finally had a chance to pollinate. Kinda panicked because the male flower in the center started to close. I wanted to make double sure the female got plenty of pollen for the best chance of getting seed. @veepaisal I can post a video to my YT when the second bud opens on how I do pollinate them if you'd like! Other than that you can use a q-tip or a small paint brush to gather the pollen and add to the female parts of the plant and just transfer the pollen to them. As far as I know this is how you can pollenate most things!

This one has little leaves down in the bottom right corner. They actually look like mini paws and this leads me to believe that the buds in the later post are actually flower buds. Update: it's confirmed to be flower buds. These plants flower mid Autumn and it early Autumn here but since our nights are so cold and these are still outside primarily, it does not surprise to me have buds already!
