Clematis 'Ernest Markham'

Hi flower peeps 👋 To get more flowers I'm wondering should I cut the straggly new growth? #advice-clematis

are you sure its e.markham? it would be a late summer bloomer & would be cut back to bud approx 1ft from ground when early growth appears. there are 3 different types of clemetis each with specific pruning requirements. read about to figure out which one you have.
