Lots of leaf buds opening 🌿
Do you cut them back down to the double bud Denise..
I do yes Elaine. Though this year I'll be taking more off as it needs a tidy. Its 5ft! @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom

If it wasn't for the mini beast arriving this weekend 🌬️ I'd be snipping the heads off.

Soooo many blue tits & long tailed tits in my hydrangea. They seem to be pecking bits off the stems. As long as it’s not my new buds😨. I guess it’s tiny bugs they’re eating? Though I can’t see any. #wildlife #bluetits
Lovely Pic Denise
Thanks Duncan @dbradbury

#fadedbeauty and a snail of matching colour!
I hope he's not still in residence Denise 😂😂😂
Oh cripes I forgot to take him off!!😳🙈 @pelly
Oh no Denise, it's a bit too dark now, funny you should post that though as I was just going to put one on of a tiny snail I found on one of my Dahlias flowers. My lodger is long gone 😂😂😂
At least it's not been eating the hydrangea! 😁

The spent blooms are still pretty. I'll leave those on until the spring as it protects the new buds. #hydrangea-advice
That's good to know #denise16 I've just put my first hydrangea in! At what stage should I dead head please?
I completely leave them alone until spring. Then in spring look out for the lovely new green buds underneath the new leaves. Only then would I cut the old blooms down to those new leaves 🍃🤗 @AlisonF

Hi! Found you via the gt post today, lovely pics, great bio, love this hydrangea - black stems, pinkest of pink flowers 😍
Hi Claudia! Thanks so much, it's a stunner right outside a window too 😀
Nice colour 💜💜💜

A corner view from indoors. Very happy to look at this every day🤗🌺. Though some are now pressing against the window so I'll cut those to bring indoors.
