Started an allotment in Sept 2014, following a 3 week 'work away' on a French organic farm. I was inspired to grow my own tasty veg. Still learning!

Wow, lots of strawberrys. How many strawberry plants do you have? I was thinking about putting in a strawberry bed on my plot for next year...

I have a bed that's 5m X 1m and another 2m X 2m ... These were inherited when I took over the allotment in 2004. Hence, I treat them as freebies every time I gather a harvest :-)

If we can get some nice sunshine this week, there will be plenty of ripe strawbs... But if this damp stuff continues then the slugs will be feasting!

The strawberry bed has been cleared of dead leaves and last seasons straw mulch. Some well rotted manure spread around the plants to give a good feed.... Looking forward to taste them in a couple of months time. #gyo #allotment
