She’s so beautiful, she’s going to be incredible next year when she’s full sized. Her sister is in the back greenhouse.
I never would have thought that such a colorful aeonium existed 😍

Looks like it’s well rooted already wow!!!

Yes ma’am @dadayba not bad for a 2 year gardener

Wow only 2 years?! It looks like you have been doing this for a while.

I did learn a lot from my father when I was a boy. He was a farmer 👩🌾 . Most of what I learned was from research and GT friends. @dadayba

I learned a lot from my dad and mom about gardening also. I usually read up on plants that I like before I purchase it.

Me took @dadayba big on researching wishlist plants

I’ve been reading up on Aeonium Big Bang, variegated Fred Ives and graptopetalum mendozae. I ordered them online few days ago.

That's my favourite one 😍

My favorite Aeonium too @anges

Ok @dadayba I separated the two Mardi Gras and the look so much better too. Now they be making babies in no time. Thanks for the tip.

Once the roots are well stablished. Right now they are getting ready to go dormant but roots will continue to grow. Hopefully next winter it gives you offsprings.

@dadayba can you tell witch one had roots when planted, right or left. They sure are beautiful ☺️ definitely a #treasuredplants because Cherry sent it to me because I killed my last one, it was in bad shape when I got it.

#interestingfoliage

Beautiful David 😍 time to put it in separate pots so each one grows babies. They will grow into bush like if they have their own space.

#tinytreasures

Yeah @dadayba I need more pots to finish spring repotting and there’s a lot more to pot

Yes I can, the one on the left is growing it’s own roots

Yup @dadayba

Sure thing

The came today @dadayba and there amazing, put them straight in water with a little rooting hormone, I thank you very much. Hope to return the favor. I put them in a pot later this day

I thought you had to let these callus over at the end?

She did the drying part before she sent them. They looked good enough for me @lesliecole49 I trust your judgment Leslie do you know a better way ? I’d be great full to hear it

I cant keep them alive David! But, I thought after they callused over you just stuck them in the ground? I truly don't know. 🤷♀️ maybe you should ask @dadayba

I think I’ll try that. It’s how I’ve done all my other Aeoniums @lesliecole49

👍 I'll be interested in seeing them. I just don't have sufficient light yet to keep them inside during the winter. They etiolate like crazy

I would really like a schwarzkopf

I see those a lot in the nurseries but I do have several Aeonium Cyclops witch looks a great deal like a Zwartcop however you spell that. @lesliecole491 I can send you some of those if you’re interested

Great colours on this one!

@lesliecole49 I let them dry for almost a week before I shipped it. That way it doesn’t rot during shipping.

You can use rooting hormones if you have them. It’s not necessary though. They will grow roots without the hormone

For succulents I usually do water therapy on them if they are dehydrated. Other than that I plant them on the soil

This was my first feature on GardenTags. It’s a baby with amazing stress colors. Don’t have it anymore. You would have to ask @saguaro what happen to it

Beautiful colors!

Wow, looks great with the black rock @docthrill

I'm sure she has no idea 😂😂 @saguaro

Wow, everything about this is absolutely gorgeous!! I bought a small one of these a couple years ago, but it never really took off, and then it fried this past summer. The only aeonium I've found that does fine through AZ summers is some mystery variety that blushes brown in the sun. Blech. 💩

They can be amazing red under greenhouse filtered sunlight. This was my first one from years ago and my first GardenTags feature

#throwback If you can keep them alive #aoenium-mardi-gras is a beautiful succulent to have #bestof2020

I’m on the lookout for that one. Are they hard to care for?

Well I’ve killed two @philstalder . I haven’t give up though. I just haven’t seen one to replace the last one, Yet !

Oh. I haven’t seen them anywhere here. Good luck 👍🍀

Fab colour 💓

Such beautiful colors!!

That's so pretty! Looks great with the lava rock

Wow, that's gorgeous

I love succulents and this is a real beauty 👌

@italydiva this was my very first GardenTags featured photo.

I can see why it was featured, it really is incredible 😊

It’s been getting direct sunlight for a bit now and has turned brilliant tones of red. I brought it back in the garden house for the new growth to be lighter in the center like when I bought it. I’ll post later when it gets there.

Beautiful plant 😊💖💖

My daughter @sarahkbartley told me to put some of my plants in front of my south side front windows. The Mardi Gras was one of those plants. She was right. It’s now in the back garden house, hopefully the center will come out with the lighter colors. Will post that at a later date.

Thanks @Cyndi for the help. Look what happened. Featured on @usgardentags
