Cut the dead flowers back to 5 leaves and it will keep flowering til the frost

Thanks @shrekfeet - not sure I follow you, do you mean dead head but leave the 5 leaves pictured above? When I have been dead heading, I remove everything!

What you refer to are not leaves they are the protectyive outer of the flower but. Mist people just take the dead flowers off. With a Rose follow the stem back, youll get a group of 3 leaves then farther down a group of 5. Thats where to cut @dougal
