So, I have such ups and downs with this plant but I love it dearly 🥰 It's light burned out and I didn't have a replacement bulb. So I moved lights around and gave it some different light. I think it liked the change. Just look at the size of that new leaf 😍 #croton #croton-petra 💕

My #croton dropped it's baby leaves and I have powdery mildew on another plant 😭 I'm guessing I increased the humidity too much 🥺 #struggles 😒

Oh no! I have no advice as these are grown as outdoor plants here, but I hope someone can help. #croton-advice

Are those 2 bright spots the mildew? Have you considered mealy bugs, are these spots on the bottom of the leaves too?

@lesliecole49 it actually could be. I was gone all day. I will inspect it more tomorrow. But I have stopped the humidifier and added wind.

@lesliecole49 ok mealy bugs aren't fun, lol. I don't think it's them as I'm living in a fairly dry climate. I was trying to help the plants by increasing the humidity and I think I over did it.

@lesliecole49 I'm trying to figure out the safest way to treat it without hurting my ladybugs 🐞 I will probably try a milk water combo

Yeah, good luck you sure as hell don't want mealy bugs, you'll fight them for a good while. I brought some home with a new plant and now it and one other are in quarantine with regular neem oil treatments

@hkyfvr Thank you 😊 They are so reactive it's amazing. It's the plant that tells me that it loves a good misting. So, I don't believe people who say that misting isn't helpful. Crotons love a good misting and will reward you with brilliant colors 🥰

I've lost a lot of plants recently to fungus gnats so I was really excited to see this new leaf on my #croton #croton-petra 😁😍💕

@cyndi Thank you 🙂 I have the outbreak more under control but they're not all gone yet. I spotted the larvae and they are so gross 🤮 I have used diatomaceous earth and neem oil. It helped a little but not as well as I hoped. I'll try some different methods. I can't wait for it to warm up so I can get outside again 😏
