So lovely. You got the right soil for it. Wish I did. Blue flowers are my favorite 😍.

@ambitiouswolf I've read that adding pennies around the roots will create the #trueblue color you desire

These are beautiful! I love blue hydrangeas. I grew up with alkaline soil, all the hydrangeas were pink. It was not until a visit to Victoria, Canada, did I see all blue hydrangeas. They were so beautiful. I came home to do exactly what Laura suggested, I added aluminum sulfate per to treat the soil a few times per year. @ambitiouswolf @columbiariver

@columbiariver I tried an addictive once and it my hydrangea died, so I haven’t tried it again since. I think it was some kind of stick you pushed into the ground near the plant. I decided I preferred pink over died. Plus I do have one that get a little blue on its own.

My #hydrangea has returned. I pruned it back hard two years ago and it looked rough and didn’t flower last year . I’m happy that it came back 😊

No perfect timing as I took mine on Saturday night. Love taking #hydrangea-cuttings best of luck

This one already had some roots about an inch long. I was told to plant in soil when the roots are 1 to 2 inches long. That's actually what I was referring to. I think it's the one in the previous picture but the roots are longer now. 🙂💕 @cyndi @edelweiss001

Hi! What method did you use for propagation?? Water, or soil?

5w
comment
Dragon_Warrior

@RunsWithSpoons I just cut 6 to 8 inches, dipped in rooting powder, and placed in water. It took several weeks. Just changing the water periodically.

@cyndi the one on the right aka H1 has more leaves than the others. It has two small leaves on top. I wasn't sure if I should cut those ones?

Yes, I love blue. I know you can change the color by changing the ph with lime I think. But I haven't played with that yet.
