Does anyone know what these weirdly structural and slightly otherworldly plants are? Saw them on holiday in Italy this summer

Hello 👋🏼 - it looks like a lotus flower seed head. Was it growing in the pond? I saw them in Mauritius on holiday - #lotusflower

They were in one of the ponds in a garden near to lake Garda in Italy.

@dragonsglen Does this explain "Lotus Shower Curtains"?
Anyone able to advise me which euphorbia this is. Very low growing probably around 6 inches or so and looking vibrant in the spring sunshine today
I think it's Euphorbia-x-martini-Walberton 👍
Could be - Google Fens Ruby to see a comparison?? X
