Jackfruit seedlings putting out good foliage now 😃 #gyo #tropicalfruit
@latebloomer I've ordered myself a gift of a grafted tree for when I move, so I can graft to these and then they should fruit quicker. These are going to be difficult even for me to get to fruit as they produce the worlds largest fruits!! 😃😃
@latebloomer hopefully house up for sale next month, if we get mortgage amount we want!! 👌
Thank you Debra, hope I can then plan a true tropical house and have my own mini jungle @latebloomer

#jackfruit #seedlings really taking off - time for separate pots I think! 😃😃
You should do a collage of the pics you've taken with that backdrop!
That's just one of my pics I've taken whilst on holiday. That was a double rainbow in Borneo. @brightcolours are we "allowed" to put up others pics not of our garden/plants??
@latebloomer actually no it wasn't. You may laugh if I tell you, I bought the seeds from a Asian food shop!! They we just in a box for people to eat (if you have any recipes, please do share). I'd been thinking of buying them from Thai etc of a "seed" seller at great cost....about 100 cost me 50pence!!! Within 1 week they had sprouted. It's amazing what will grow when bought from food shops!!! 😃😃😃
I've not seen anything that says we have to post only strictly garden-related pics...?? What did you have in mind?? 😳
I've seen people post pics of foreign lands taken on their holidays. Some are gardens, some are general landscapes.
@brightcolours exactly those sort, I love photography of jungles/flowers/tropical settings when I'm away. Get them printed on canvas and have around my practice at work.
@latebloomer you do!!! Yes if like to know what can be made from these. I grow all my elephant ears (colocasia) from tubers, ginger, galangal, starfruits (carambola), then graft from my main grafted tree to them, same with lychee seeds, graft to them, mango and again graft from my nam doc mai and keitt trees. I think there's more but still not clear headed.....not moved from my living floor yet as slept here last night!!
Yes there all my pics, as I said to @brightcolours I love tropical scenes and foliage. I'll put some up as long as no one thinks it's my garden!! 😃😃
Oh I forgot dragon fruit, easy peasy from seed. I don't actually like the fruit, just think the plant is interesting!! @latebloomer
AOK to post pics of others gardens!!!! Eg I've posted a few I took at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show last week. Just say in the comments where the garden/landscape is (to save Deb or me asking!!) 😊
Thanks to my late grandad who gave me tips for his English rose garden, rest I've just sat up reading on Internet and tried/tested. Also de stress's me after hard day at work, plants don't talk and smell nice!!😃😃😂😂 @latebloomer

Thanks @tina anything that's difficult to grow in UK I want to try it out!
That's something I would do but then have no place for them and Then they die on me lol
Jackfruit seedlings nearly ready to graft!!! Another month or so. 😎😎 #tropicalfruit #jackfruit #gardening
Ooh I loved that. Had it a lot when my dad was working in the Philippines. I always thought it tasted between a mango and banana 😀. Good job you didn't grow the similar stinky one banned in public places lol.
@trina durian don't like it, never tasted it, can't get past the smell! Jackfruit is possible to get to fruit in a container, I think durian is more difficult!!
@drnicko that's the one 👃🏻
Look forward to seeing how it grows. Is it outdoors?
@trina no just took pic outside. They're growing in my polytunnel, temp today 30'c, try to provide correct conditions. When older can be grown outside during summer months, but I would say to get to fruit, polytunnel!! 🌴🌴
I'll give this a miss thanks Nick, 🤔 it sounds it's an acquired taste🙃 mango, banana yes together mm not sure, any smelly odours forget it 😷
@lamaisonbleueoleron this one no smelly odours!! Jackfruit is really nice...texture like apple/mango and nice fruity taste. It's really not horibble...we were talking about fruit called durian. Which is also called "vomit fruit"!
Good job I've not started preparing dinner🙈😂 Apple / mango sounds little bit better. The durian, must have been the one I found on YouTube she didn't enjoy it😋 😱
@lamaisonbleueoleron send us the link, is it good laugh? Try jackfruit if you go anywhere tropical, it's lovely! 😃
Hi Nick, I see if I can find it a again there's a few on YouTube 😱
