Nice surprise to find one of my Red Canna will bloom soon! 😎😎 #tropicalflower

Exciting!!! Just bought some Canna bulbs. Any tips? Can I sow outdoors or do I need to start them off first.

@heleno81 I would start them off with some warmth, as soon as you see some growth can go outside. You'll get it to flowering stage quicker! 🌷

Cool - thanks for the info. 👍

Wow, that's really early - is this growing indoors @drnicko ?

@richard.spicer.7906 no it's outside in my garden, was overwintered in polytunnel, so a little cheating.....😉

Ah, I see 😉

Nice! #canna

Love Cannas

@mikethegardener I like them too, but they just seem to multiply like gremlins!! 😃

Deb, If you've got room plant them in the ground. They should do fine but will die back once the cold hits... www.burkesbackyard.com.au/fact-sheets/in-the-garden/flowering-plants-shrubs/canna-lilies/ @latebloomer

They don't mind hot. Maybe put some in a pot, just in case?? But I'm sure they'll do just fine!! @latebloomer

My seed grown plants large enough to repot. These are "Canna Tuerekheimi".

No!! @latebloomer just I find takeaway containers cheap for tissue grafting (they can sterilised) and make cheap seed/starting pots. Got 500 with lids for £30.....

@latebloomer Canna are lillies that have great tropical foliage and growing to about 4-6 feet high, depending on cultivar and produce long stems with lovely highly coloured flowers. Also known as Indian Shot 👎👎🍽☠☠

@latebloomer I don't see why not. They are very easy to start from seed. If you need I can tell you how to get them to germinate quickly. They are fast and start growing wishing 1-2 weeks. My seedlings are about 1 month old.

Deb, I suggest you grow water Iris and #Lythrum salicaria. How deep is your pond? How wide? Have you built plant shelves along the edge or will you be submerging all plants?

5am this morning.....first Canna bloom of the season! 😎😎
Early bird 👌👏🏼
