Sempervivum

I have a few pots of semps outside for the winter but this pot had jelly beans as well. It was my experiment to see if the jelly beans would survive through the winter. They were doing well and some are still alive but I brought them inside before the big snow storm last week and last night it was 9 degrees F so they wouldn’t have survived. The semps would have, but not the beans. One week inside and the semps are turning green from purple. #sempervivum #jellybeans #sedumrubrotinctum

I’m still so amazed that some succulents can grow in my region all year. I put these hens and chicks in this pot last September and they lasted all winter and came out of it looking like the top picture.
