Hello! I needed this reminder that spring is coming! We’ve had some (for us) unusually frosty weeks, and more is coming, according to the forecast. I just can’t wait for winter to be over!
Nor can I, Mona. We have snow today so everything will be hibernating until the temperature warms up a bit! 🌨
I go through the same (irrational) anxiety each year. I know that most will survive, and those few plants that die will do so whether I worry or not. Yet I agonize, and I wait. Basket case. @jacaranda

I have finally found grit!!! Here, it is sold for use on icy walkways, but the small print on the back of the bag says “can also be used as horticultural grit” — Excellent news! I’ll be buying bags of this stuff!!! Now I wonder if I’ll be getting any fireworks next spring from these allium christophii seeds I collected earlier this year. #seeds #wintersowing #allium #allium-christophii

Probably a long road from seed to fireworks (if I manage to produce anything at all, my history with seeds isn’t all that impressive) but I think I’ll give it a go.
My mother have about one million alliums and she just let’s them selfseed where they are. I haven’t been as succesful as she’s been. My mother has been trying to minimize them but they are tough! 💜
I've tried in the past, have got them to germinate but haven't survived much longer my fault entirely though
@ulrikagustafsson my other alliums pop up everywhere, but I haven’t spotted any newcomers among these huge ones, which is why I now will do a more controlled experiment. It is entirely possible that I won’t even get them to germinate, because that’s how lousy I am with seeds @carolgs - but if I manage, I’ll brag about it for years!😄😁😂
Yes, it,s always the ones you want to spred that are the hardest ones. Good luck and you are entitled to brag if you succed! 😉
Brag away, I'm lousy at seeds too

For a brief moment these were highlighted by a sunray. I rushed out to capture it, but this time I was too late. Will have to work on my speed!
Good morning emve, I've been looking through all you photos here they are super, loving everything you are doing in your garden, obviously very green fingered and patient. I look forward to more 👍🏻😆
Hi there Gillian @pottybird42 ! You are very kind. I so enjoy making things grow, and I keep moving plants around until they behave themselves and look the way I want them to. I do take it personally if a plant can't cope, but with trial and error I guess I can't expect everything to go my way all the time.
