The old bougainvillea has made it to the glass ceiling. Where to next, I wonder. Sideways along that wooden structure is always an option of course, but I am saving that for my grapes. The ceiling is all glass and metal, with nowhere to put any nails until it reaches the back wall after about 3 meters. It is a long stretch, but perhaps I can work with that.

Looks like this will be the best year yet for my bougainvillea.

How exciting! Where do you have it?

@awomanonabike, I’ve had it for years in a pot that has been moved in and out depending on weather. From now on it will be permanently located in the greenhouse bed. After about a month there, it already looks way better than it ever has before. This coming winter will be a test of course, but I am reasonably confident that it will survive.

Well done! Your greenhouse is going to be fabulous 😍

I've had my bougainvillea for many years now, over-wintering it in the orangery and bringing it outside to enjoy/endure the very varied summer conditions we can get around here. This is the best it has ever looked! The summer of 2018 might be one for the record books with unusually warm and stable weather. I feel for the farmers that had to battle draught and fires, but I also have to be happy for my bougainvillea.

It’s beautiful Mona and a rare treat in more northerly climes!

I can't help myself @valjones-hughes! So many fully hardy and more suitable plants out there, yet again and again I feel drawn to the exotic and labor intensive. Quite a contrast to the mossy woodland-y borders I so love in the rest of my garden.

Variety - spice of life, as they say!

I think it is relieved to be back indoors.

My view. Bougainvillea and agapanthus in the orangery.
Wow! 👌
Thanks, @awomanonabike and @gjones, they have been outside and then in the greenhouse until now, but it is getting far too wet and windy and with unpredictable temperatures too. The original plan was to prune before bringing them inside, but how can I, when they look like that!? Might as well enjoy the view for a bit.
That s nice! Like having summer in your orangerie😎
Oh absolutely. I would do the same 😊
