This just arrived from California a couple days ago. Got him in substrate but it’s wobbly because of the lack of roots. My bulldog just knocked him completely out of the pot... he’s so unstable bc so top heavy! Will I stress him too much repotting a second time? My ā€œdirtā€ is pretty wet, I’d rather not put too much of that in the mix. Time of year, roots are more likely to be going dormant, you know? I just don’t want to pack him in too hard either... should I just wiggle him back Iand stabilize?

Oh sorry, I really don’t know much about cactus. I have quite a few and I don’t water them, I just let the rain take care of them but it hardly ever rains here. Good luck 🍀

Thanks anyway @philstalder I did end up just trying to put the poor thing back in his pot & I think it will be ok. I was just alarmed at the time, it hit the concrete and... oh dear😂

@fearlessthereforepowerful it seems you have the right idea. That's what I would do.

When I run into this problem I use a heavy, stable planter of some kind and moor the occupant with some kind of very Zen rocks.
