Munch, munch, munch.....early Sunday lunch!!! What are these little monsters snacking on my Solomon's Seal?

Oh no. What a shame. They're sawfly. Next year start checking on the underside of the leaves for the little eggs and remove them. Probably from May time. I've not had any this year because I think the ants have been protecting them. they're below a tree that has lots of greenfly and are full of sticky secretions which the ants like. I've seen ants attack ladybirds for the same reason.

I had the same problem with mine, had to chop the whole lot down.

Fortunately they didn't ruin them when they were in full flower!!

Just noticed this about to burst into bloom with its lovely bells!!
