@kez001uk unfortunately mullein no.2 is shriveled and floppy with one poorly flowering stem. Too many flower stems for the root system to cope with I reckon.

@gardengimp that can happen, it’s more common than you think! 😉🤣😂🤣😂 sorry, couldn’t resist 🤭

@kez001uk 😂😂 I never thought it would happen to me, but a floppy verbascum comes to us all it seems! 😉 While we're kind of on the subject, the other day I stumbled upon a Philodendron pollinating video you may find interesting... https://youtu.be/63d6-r3zumo Apologies in advance 🙏

@gardengimp 😂 every time I see ‘those’ adverts on tv I’ll think of floppy verbascums 🤣 I’m very intrigued about this video...

@kez001uk This is mullein no.1, sorry its not clear to see sometimes - the other one I posted is no.2, although its grown another flowering stem so it could be called mullein no.2-5 😁

@gardengimp aaah, well it might help if I read the caption before commenting 😂 no. 2 is going to be ginormous at this rate!! Think they look good even at this stage 😋

😁 I dunno, maybe just 4 smaller no.1s... I've seen a more sensible verbascum thapsus in a garden around the corner - I feel the need for some autumn over the wall seed collecting 😈 @kez001uk

@gardengimp I just looked that one up, similar to this but maybe a bit smaller 😛 borrowing seeds is like recycling really 😉😉

@kez001uk well yeah that's a good point! I plan on giving back to the community by doing a spot of guerilla gardening. Unkempt lawns need poppies and teasels 😉

kez001uk

@gardengimp guerilla gardening! That needs to be a thing! Now you’ve made me think 🤔 I have a field that my garden backs on to and it’s been left to go wild. I reckon I could sprinkle all my old seed packets out there and start a pretty wildflower spread 🤩

@kez001uk it already is a thing, just not as widely practiced as I'd like! I suppose Ellen Willmott was the first guerilla gardener, chucking eryngium giganteum seeds everywhere the cheeky mare 🙊 Good idea you've got, if you can reach to lightly rake first 🌱

@gardengimp I had no idea. Never heard of it until you said before. Could have taken credit for it 😉
