Camellia looking bare? Is this normal?
@hargshirl mine looks the same....keep watering it,as its now it starts forming buds for next year.😁
Ericaceous plants dont like tap water, try using rain water or leave tap water to stand for a few hours before using it :)
Now I don't get to say this very often but it's been dry in sunny Scotland for ages @Squares and I'm complaining cos my plants need rainwater 😂😂

My poor camellia not looking too good? Any advice? And is wiping the leaves with a baby wipe too far?
Mine looks the same. 1 bud opened but not fully & has gone brown & the other buds didn't open, mine is slightly smaller than yours, purchased this year.
@emmaline76 mines had quite a few flowers some buds fell off not sure if this is the way it's meant to go 😁 til next year?
Well I don't think they do flower for long, I'm not going to do anything with mine just see how it goes & keep it watered 🤔
hehe, if you want to keep it looking nice then you go ahead and wipe the leaves 😂 why not?! not sure baby wipes are ok for plants tho, i would be inclined just to use a damp soft cloth :)
@Squares 😂😂 I did wipe them with baby wipes sensitive and they survived 😂😂
hehe ;)

Any idea how big my #camellia will grow? It's so pretty 💕💕💕
#pink #advice @joan @kathy @justin
Well not sure if you will like this but it can grow to 13 feet high and 13 feet spread! Are you keeping it in a pot😳. Camellias are only pruned to tidy them @hargshirl
Lol the go said it would be fine in the pot for 5 years at t£-5 growth rate I doubt it 😂😂 I would love for it to get bigger just not sure where I would put i5 xx
@kathy @justin my lovely new #pink #camellia is not looking so lovely....the blooms seem to be literally falling off even buds....any idea why?
It can be caused by dramatic changes in temperature or under or over watering too. Some buds drop off naturally if there is an abundance of flowers as it can't cope or doesn't have the energy to support all the blooms
@justin I'm guessing it may have Been the vast amount of rain that has fallen over the weekend then 😬
Possibly yes 😌
Will it #survive? I hope so 😰
Not sure what I may have done to my #camellia or is it dormant now until next year?
no not dormant, there's new leaf growth, make sure you give it a feed now for healthy blooms next year :)
@Squares thank you there is definitely new leave on there 😍😍 I bought the camellia /azalea food from morrisons how often should I feed?
spring and no later than july :)
