My favourite rose but it does tend to get blackspot, I used sulphur powder this year and it helped 😆

Yes @katgreen I cut it back hard last winter changed the soil and sprayed it with rose black spot treatment and this year it's fab! I've another rose in the garden with black spot but this rose and others have not been affected 😄

When you say you changed the soil Elizabeth, do you have this in a pot? Or did you just remove some of the soil from round the base? Also When did you spray it? @Hellebore and how do you use the sulphur? @katgreen

@rachelbrooks you can puff the sulphur onto the leaves or mix it into the soil 😆

@rachelbrooks I've got this one in a pot as it's very special to me and I bring it in over winter. Ones in the garden I've remove top soil (as spores can live in soil) and mulch. Sprayed when cut back and in spring on the new growth. It's always worked but doesn't mean spores won't travel and get it next year.
