Skimmia japonica

Skimmia is our October 'Plant of the Month'. A fantastically hard-working and versatile shrub, perfect for autumn-winter planting. Who else loves Skimmia? How do you use it in your garden?

Monday's shrub is one of our favourites. Skimmia japonica reevesiana is a compact evergreen with delightfully fragrant leaves. . At this time of year, this first-rate plant is covered in fantastic showy red berries.

Is it sour or acidic in taste?

@gjones as @ukjohnny says it is a fantastic plant for multiple garden uses!

@ankur1406 the berries are purely ornamental and could cause a little discomfort if eaten - so definitely don't try one
