Check out this strawberry tree, it is starting to fruit. It is the 1st week of September and this tree is loaded with fruit. They look like small strawberries when ripe because they are bright red. Most people plant this tree as an ornamental in california, and I think many would be surprised of its edible status 😂 Very drought tolerant & doesnt mind salty soil, shade or some frost. #trees #strawberrytree #gyo #food #fruit #growyourown #summer #fruittree #garden #gardening #gardener #nature
@kez001uk yes very beautiful ❤ these trees are mainly known in Ireland, it would make sense you see them in your area! We americans don't know about them much lol, but I love fruit so I found out about this one when i saw its fruit and i researched it. I hear they call them cane apple in Ireland or something lol
@kez001uk everyone who had one here in cali doesnt know they fruit, so wouldnt surprise me if in UK nobody knew either haha. Lots of fruit to"borrow" 😛

Very Cool !!!!! 😍😍. New to me.
They look incredible when they’re covered in the red fruits ❤️ I didn’t know they were edible though 😜
Interesting, never heard of it. Kinda like the breadfruit tree popular in Hawaii, which is larger in size though.
@sherrisgarden you can probably find one if you go for a walk 🙂 like 6 of my clients have these and didnt even know they fruit. They got happy haha

@lilymel actually you are right, it looks exactly like a breadfruit except like 1/20 the size haha. These get as big as a small strawberry 🙂
@honestgreensco can’t say I’ve seen many but they’re quite a sight. I might be “borrowing” a fruit if I see one though 😂
