My mom had jade plants and she put them outside in summer and inside in winter. They flowered sometimes. But everytime they started getting really big they rotted. Any idea what happened?🤔😟

Did she put them in bigger pots as they grew? maybe its that 🤔 @purplebird

Yes, she made sure they weren't root bound. She generally had a green thumb (I didn't pay attention) but this one indoor/outdoor plant always did this.🤔😟

But why only when they got really big, the small/ medium ones were always healthy.

@purplebird If they are in pots I'd say the soil is very crucial because jade plants really don't need any water. I use a soil mixture that has a lot of pebbles and good drainage so that the soil is always dry. Those big jade plants sitting in water usually rots them. They definitely need some sun, but if they are in cold shade just be extra cautious to make sure drainage is very good.
