Morning all, some more dahlias doing what they do best… #white #dahlia #ajsept22
Good morning Angela I love them 🤍🤍🤍
Morning Angela…beautiful 👌🏼
They're definitely preferring this weather aren't they 🤍💛🤍
Morning again Enid and thank you 😀 They are really going for it this year! 🤍🤍 @godfreye
Morning Elaine and Jane, the dahlias are definitely the best they’ve ever been this year. Really pleased as these were left in the border last winter and just covered with cardboard @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom @pelly
Morning 🤍 Looking lovely 😍
Thanks Jason 🤍🤍🤍 @hebelover
These are absolutely wonderful 🤍💛🤍
Thanks Jeff, I wasn’t sold on them when I first had them but they’ve really grown on me. They’re definitely earning their keep! 🤍🤍 @jeatacake

Morning…not the most exciting dahlia but it’s the only one I’ve got. I need to rectify that at some point! #dahlia #white
Morning, the two poor performers just went in the bin, and the slugs love the buds on the Bishops so much, I think they're gonna go the same way. 🤷♂️
Good morning Angela I love white flowers 🤍🤍🤍
I think it’s wonderful- I’m extremely proud of every dahlia I manage to get to flower
Morning Angela. I think it's rather lovely 🤍💛🤍
Morning Angela…at least it hasn’t been nibbled 😟😍
It looks beautiful Angela 🤍🤍🤍
Afternoon Jason… so sorry to hear that. I guess the damper weather in Yorkshire won’t help on that front either 🙁 @hebelover
Afternoon ladies…I think I’m being a bit hard on this poor dahlia. It is lovely in its own right. I’ve just seen so many stunning examples on here! @godfreye @sharonhayden @pelly @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom @hkyfvr
Some you win, some you lose 🤷♂️ They're always gonna be the biggest problem here, concentrating more on the ones they leave alone, and this year has been pretty good, think it's nature's way of telling me to stick to foliage 😂
Nature always knows best. But as humans we always like to push the boundaries and hope against hope! It’s the optimist in us…nothing wrong with that 😉 🐌 🚫😆 @hebelover

How many raindrops can one dahlia hold?! #stillgoingstrong #dahlia #white #raindrops
They make it sparkle. It's covered in tiny diamonds 💎 💎💎
It’s a lovely effect isn’t it? 🤍💧🤍💧@pelly
It certainly is 😍
Great picture 😍
Lovely 🌼🌼
Thank you….looks like plenty more raindrops out there this morning!! @hebelover @midnightgardener

My first and only dahlia #dahliaday #white

fabulous 👍
Beautiful 🤍, one more than I have Angela. I've added late bulbs, hoping for same show ive seen on GTers pages
Great one. 🤩
I know Jane....I’m a slow starter, a bit like this dahlia! 😂😂 @pelly
Thank you Dyan 😊 @sinukarta
Thank you Mark. I’ve waited a long time for this one but they’re definitely worth the wait. Hope yours make an appearance soon 😊 @solly1961
Thanks Phil! 😊 @philstalder
It’s gorgeous 🤍 but I’m sure it’s the first of many 😉
I suspect you could be right Kerry! 😉😊 @kez001uk

My very first #dahlia #bud is finally opening, so the the mystery is now solved...it’s #white My other buds have a way to go...maybe October?! 😆
Yay! Progress 🎉🎉🎉😃
Patience...and more patience....no rushing nature @anges 😆
😂 I've still got a few at the bud stage yet 😴😴😴
I've still got one to flower 👍
Obviously a few reluctant, slow starters still out there Jane 😊 @pelly
There definitely are this year 🤔
Hooray!! Congrats! It's a beauty too 😍 I was thinking of you and this dahlia the other day! So glad it opened for you
Thank you so much Jackie...I’m delighted! I’ve got another 3 buds so more to follow 🤞 @jmlincoln

Look what I found this morning.....at last! So excited! 😀😀😀 #dahlia #bud
I’ve got 7 dahlias I’m still waiting on to see flowers. I’m trying to be patient.
Ahh, you too? It’s the first time I’ve grown dahlias so I wasn’t sure whether I was doing something wrong. Hopefully yours start blooming soon. I guess the waiting makes it so much more exciting when they finally bloom @DeborahBanks
I only grew 1 with any success before. The slugs ate last years apart from 1 and it grew no problem. I have buds on 3 now, the other 4 nothing much. I have 4 with flowers but not many. 😬
Excellent!! 2 out of the 3 dahlias I had from SGC have buds and like you @italydiva I’m so excited to see the flowers emerge. The one didn’t make it
That’s a shame Caroline but hopefully your remaining two will put on a show to make up for it 😀 @Cazx
Look forward to seeing your dahlias when they finally bloom @DeborahBanks @Cazx 😊
I've had a new one open today but the flower is so rubbish I can't tell what it is. I tend to find the first flower can be a dud and then it gets going.
That’s good to know Deborah. I won’t think it’s me again if the first one is a bit of a dud....I’m getting usd to this waiting game now 😆 @DeborahBanks
Yay! I wonder what colour it will be? 😃
Hooray!! Finally some action 😜 Dahlias = Patience and then they don't disappoint 😀 If you pinch off the two smaller buds it will put more energy into making the center flower bigger. The side buds will be smaller flowers with a thin stem. But at the same time, how could you remove buds that finally showed up 🤣 The decision is yours!
I wonder too? The anticipation is killing me!!! 😆 @anges

Guaranteed to be the most uninspiring photo of a dahlia you’ll see today. No bloom, no buds, nothing. 🙇♀️ What am I doing wrong? Is it because it’s in a planter, even though it’s a large planter? #dahlia #advice #help
Aww Angela! That's a bummer. Is it getting plenty of sun and lots of water? Has it had any fertilizer? The plant itself looks good and full! I started all mine at the same time and I still have a couple that are yet to start blooming either while others just can't seem to stop blooming. Maybe it's just a slow start 🤞🏻
Was planted in a larger pot with plenty of new compost around mid-June. (You can see plant was a lot smaller then on previous photo). Keeping it well watered. Probably gets a couple of hours sun a day. Do you think it needs more sun Jackie? 🤔 @jmlincoln
Oh and I’ve also used a weekly feed @jmlincoln
They do love their sun, couldn't hurt to try! That is if you have the sunshine available and you can move the pot 🤪
Might seem daft Angela but are you sure it's a dahlia
They do like a lot of sun Angela, full sun if possible but at least morning sun 👍☀
Plenty of sun at the moment Jackie. As for moving the pot...that might be a bit more challenging due to the size and weight! But where there’s a challenge...😬😆 Thanks Jackie @jmlincoln
I was given a tuber from a neighbour who said it was a dahlia Jayne. In all honesty I wouldn’t have a clue!!! 😆😂 @jaynehynesburton
It only gets sun from around 3pm Jane, so it may well be that sun is the issue @pelly
Sounds like it could be then, can you move it? 🤔
Haha I figured it'd be an issue to move it 😂 Time to get creative! Best of luck... and don't hurt yourself!

#cataloguing
I thought this #latebloomer deserved a photo on her own #dahlia #november #white #ajnov22
Thank you, it really is quite special in its pure white form @gjones
