Morning everyone, although I’m away I took some photos before I left as I wanted to have a reference for future years. I suspect by the time I get back, they may not be looking quite as lovely #rose #rose-aromatique #scented #ajjune

Mom Angela .. they are beautiful , although I think you’ll have a lot of deadheading to do.. have a lovely time 👍🏻😘

Morning and thank you Julie! You’re absolutely right! I have so many beautiful roses blooming at the moment. I did consider deadening before I left, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it! Plus I was pretty whacked by the time I’d carted all my big pots into the shade. 🥵😂 @juliesgarden

They’ll wait 😊

That is an absolute stunner Angela 🧡🧡🧡

Beautiful. Hope your having a great time🤗

Love the colours on this one Jane and it certainly lives up to its name…so much so, I have two!! @pelly

Thank you Enid and yes we really are having a lovely time 🥰 @godfreye

@gjones thank you so much…I’ve just noticed that you live in Saskatchewan? I have very fond memories of Saskatchewan. I worked in Saskatoon back in the 80’s. Happy days! Whereabouts are you?

Gorgeous colour too 😁

It is a beautiful colour Debra, it varies in intensity from a deep apricot/orange to a softer peach/yellow as it matures @debs69

Just so beautiful 🧡

Morning everyone, this photo was taken earlier this week. Could someone advise please…I’ve noticed all of my shrub rose blooms seem too heavy this year and the weight is making them droop. The only difference this year is that I added manure, slow realease rose granules and have watered more. Is it possible to have overdone it? Some are in pots, others in the ground and different varieties #advice #rose-help #rosehelp #help #rose-aromatique #apricot

I found this if it’s of any help 🤔https://www.davidaustinroses.co.uk/blogs/news/how-to-feed-a-rose

Thank so much Jane. I seem to have followed this guidance. Plenty of blooms and buds but the stems don’t seem strong enough to hold up the blooms…such a shame 😔 @pelly

You're welcome. I thought what you had done sounded right too 🤔. I had two DA roses that were the same, the company more or less blamed me when I got in touch with them. In the end I had to get rid of them 😢

That’s disappointing, particularly from DA. I have 3 different varieties from 3 different sources, I’ve had them for a few years now and this is the first time this has happened. I wonder if the granules are leaching feed too quickly with the watering? 🤔 I may have to prune them back a bit more this year, keep my fingers crossed and see what happens @pelly

I'm terrible with Roses, I struggle just to keep them doing anything!!

That’s a shame. Normally they do quite well for me Jason. I thought I’d give them a little more TLC this year…seems I should have left well alone! @hebelover

Maybe Jeremy @jpea can help, he knows a lot about roses 🤔

I find that having 200 supports helps immensely…..😆 to be honest I’ve always found DA roses to be on the heavy side…..that’s why I go to PB…..and apart from supports (which can be useless most times) I don’t know a solution 😕

200 supports!! 😂 That may have to be my way forward Elaine. Where do you get yours from…might need to start saving!!! 😅 @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom

…or maybe not if you find they don’t really help! 😆@wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom

The chances are your blooms are really big and healthy thanks to your care but when rainwater gets inside them they become too heavy. So after the rain I always go and shake them out. BTW are you deadheading back to a stem thicker than a pencil?
