Beautiful! ❤️ I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago at a show in Knebworth after seeing some at a garden in the new forest, just a baby one right now but fell in love with it. Do you grow yours in acidic soil?

Doh! Just realised you said it was at Bodnant 🙄 , you should definitely try it. The nursery told me they do best in shade in ericaceous soil mix but very little I can find on the web about this plant.

@richard.spicer.7906 (part 2 😀) Chilean fire bush". They showed photos of it high up, presumably in the Andes, so it must be pretty hardy, but RHS website may have more info.

Forgot to mention and update you that my little cutting is coming on nicely. No probs yet with the cold. Had a little accident with it last year and also had something eating the leaves, but think it's recovering well. I might try planting out in the spring (still in a pot at the moment).

@richard.spicer.7906 Nice one Rich! 👍 Fingers crossed it will thrive once it's through the winter. I must get one this spring too from somewhere, as they blew me away when I saw them at Bodnant. Keep us posted on how yours gets on👍 😊
