I've recently acquired a cutting of Embothrium coccineum - the Chilean Fire Bush - from a specialist grower in early May. I saw a lovely specimen some years ago at some gardens in the New Forest (Furzey Gardens I think). It has these bright red spider like flowers. I was advised to keep moist, in the shade and it benefits from a slightly acidic soil. It's already got new side shoots developing in the last 4 weeks so doing well - I'll keep potting on until big enough to plant out in the garden.

Like @riakat, another plant I've never heard of.
@richard.spicer.7906 yes me too. Will be interested in seeing how it comes on and gets mature enough to flower. 😊👍🏼🙏🏼🌱
@richard.spicer.7906 Saw some at Bodnant recently & they were magnificent & are now on my "absolutely must have" list!
@Richard.spicer.7906 how big do these Chilean fire bushes grow? They sound really beautiful!
Look forward to seeing it flush 😁
