Based in St Helens. I grow flowers, fruit & veg at home, on my allotment & in Thailand. Prefer the exotic & unusual & to share tips, ideas, seeds etc.
Help me identify this plant. I have always known it as Indian Balsam (actually from seed bought in Thailand) . Definitely a relative of the more common impatiens / busy lizzy
It is beautiful. It does look like impatiens.
Thanks Janice @lovestogarden it"s like a cross between impatiens & the much maligned Himalayan balsam
I love anything that color and this flower is very pretty. I like that the seeds are from Thailand, too.
@lovestogarden it is surprising too that it has grown so well here, even though UK summers are a good 15C+ cooler than Thailand!
I bet they like your moisture and have adapted to the temperature since they started from seeds.
@lovestogarden We do get a lot of rain here, as does Thailand so maybe you're right? Hoping to get seed from them to grow again next year. 😆
